This exciting publishing project was undertaken jointly by AVIEN, the Anti-Virus Information Exchange Network, and AVIEWS, the Anti-Virus Information & Early Warning System.
Questions, applause, brickbats etc can be sent to info@smallblue-greenworld.co.uk and will be forwarded to the other authors. In the meantime, errata and other information relating to the book will be posted here (there may be additional information at http://www.syngress.com/, but I have no write-access there.)
Remaining errors are the responsibility of the Editor, not the contributing authors. Good job, guys!
Supplemental Information
Unfortunately, the book snuck out before I'd seen some of the proofs, and in any case it's a big book to review in such a short timeframe. One of the prices you pay for working with a publisher that values getting books out while the topic is still current. :) However, that means you can probably expect to see other errata here in due course. C'est la vie...
Errata
1) In Chapter 8, Page 322, the acronym CIPNI is used for the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure. That's a typo of course: it should be CPNI: see www.cpni.gov.uk. In the same section, I suggested that the WARP registration process is bureaucratic. It is, but the term wasn't meant perjoratively: after all, I've spent much of my working life for one of the biggest bureaucracies in the world. The point I meant to make was simply that launching a WARP is a more complex process than joining, say, a SecurityFocus list, or setting up a Yahoo Group, and requires real commitment. And quite right too. |
